Huskie Athletics, at the University of Saskatchewan, is one of fifty-four Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) members that strive for National Championships with 15 elite teams that compete over 25 weekends, late August to the end of March annually.
With 108 Canada West Championships and 26 national championships under its belt, Huskie Athletics is one of the most dominant programs in the country.
There are two pro sports teams that call Saskatoon home. The Saskatchewan Rush, who play in the National Lacross League, have won the NLL Championship 2 times since relocating in 2016 and have quickly become one of the leagues most successful teams.
The Saskatchewan Rattlers basketball team plays in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders play in the Canadian Football League and are located in Regina. It is not uncommon for busloads of fans to make the trip to the games.
Gordie Howe Sports Complex
Named after Saskatoon most beloved athlete, the Gordie Howe Sports Complex has recently undergopne a massive renovation to become a world-class sport and training facility. The centre includes the following facilities:

- Field and Box Lacrosse
- Cross Country Skiing
- Figure Skating
Saskatoon Jazz Festival
For ten days each summer, the city of Saskatoon bursts into song as the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival plays host to hundreds of world class artists. Over 80,000 hungry music fans devour the sounds of jazz, blues, funk, pop, and world music each year, with a program that spans as many genres as it does continents.
Taste of Saskatchewan
Saskatoon's annual food festival, Taste of Saskatchewan, features over 30 of Saskatoon's finest restaurants serving their house favorite dishes in beautiful Kiwanis Park and features of 50 of Saskatchewan's premier bands on the free stage.
The Saskatoon Blues Festival
The Saskatoon Blues Festival: always a party! The Saskatoon Blues Festival will open your eyes to the diversity and scope of that multi-faceted music genre known as "The Blues". The Saskatoon Blues Festival features some of Canada's best musical talent, along with International artists. During Festival week enjoy "The Blues" at various clubs, bars and coffee shops around the city. Presentations prior to the Festival in various schools educate students about the history and styles of blues.
