Employees shall be granted up to one (1) working day of paid sick leave per month, for up to four (4) days per term. Such sick leave will only apply to regularly scheduled hours. To qualify for sick leave, the Employee must notify the person designated by the Faculty or Department where the Employee works as to the expected duration of the illness or injury. The Employer may require a medical certificate from the Employee for extended absences. Any unused sick leave will expire at the end of the appointment and shall not be carried forward.
The Employer shall grant a leave of absence without pay for longer-term illnesses provided medical evidence of such need is submitted to the person designated by the Faculty or Department, in consultation with Wellness Resources.
